For immigrants who wish to work in the United States, there are a number of different work visas they may apply for. While some are only temporary visas that allow the individual to work in the U.S. from one to seven years, others are more long lasting, designed to allow the person to take up permanent residency in the United States. To determine which work visa is right for you, it’s best to consult a local San Antonio immigration attorney before beginning the filing process.
Temporary Work Visas
There are several types of temporary visas that allow immigrants to work in the U.S. for a period of time. Some of these include:

- H2A – For seasonal agricultural workers.
- P1 – For athletes or internationally recognized entertainers.
Permanent Work Visas
For workers who intended to stay in the U.S. more permanently, there are a number of permanent worker visas available.
These include:
- EB1 – For outstanding professors or researchers, multinational executives/managers or individuals with extraordinary abilities in the sciences, arts, business or athletics industries
- EB2 – For workers will advanced degrees or exceptional abilities in the arts, sciences or business
- EB3 – For professionals, skilled workers and other workers.
