Santa’s Helpers
In the spirit of giving Davis Law Firm is asking you to join us in becoming one of Santa’s Helpers and support the children at Guardian House, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization by taking part in our toy drive.
Davis Law Firm has taking part in Santa’s Helpers program to support the children at Guardian House here in San Antonio. Founded in 1997, Guardian House mission is to protect the children of San Antonio whose parents are going through divorce, separation or family conflict. They provide monitored exchanges, supervised visitation, parenting education and counseling to help children through this stressful time in their lives.
Children’s Bill of Rights
Guardian House believes in a Children’s Bill of Rights when parents are not together. The idea that every child has rights. The right to love both parents without feeling guilty, and having to choice one over the other. The right to a safe environment, and away from being stuck in the middle between a parental break-up. Most importantly, the right to be a child and not have to worry about the adult problems their parents may be facing. Guardian House teaches and encourages children to never blame themselves for a parent break-up in order to avoid the emotional distress that comes with it.
In the spirit of the holidays, Davis Law Firm will be accepting toy donations from now until December 23rd. Children from birth to age 17 participate at Guardian House, and toys, games and books for all ages are welcome, as well as sports balls and outdoor toys for use on the playground. Due to hygienic reasons, Guardian House cannon accept stuffed animals, cloth toys, pillows or blankets.
We invite you to drop off your toy donation at our main Davis Law Firm location: 10500 Heritage Blvd Dr., 102, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
Davis Law Firm is proud to support the children at Guardian House. Last year, Guardian House served over 600 children throughout all of their programs; most of these families have a history of domestic violence, and over 75% of these children come from low-income households. Despite these potential risk factors, with established programs in place and therapeutic wraparound services provided by Guardian House, parents are ensured success.
Jeff Davis, owner of Davis Law Firm, says, “This is an important and commendable effort and that is why we are supporting this project for the less-fortunate children and adults of San Antonio at a critical time in their lives!”
