Biography

Edward Allred is a Litigation Attorney (Of Counsel) with more than thirty years of experience trying and resolving complex civil cases. With equal experience on both sides of the docket, he brings a client-focused perspective to Davis Law Firm, representing individuals and families in serious personal injury, wrongful death, and high-stakes commercial disputes.

Edward represented defendants from 1995 until 2005. At Baker McKenzie, he defended employers against labor and employment claims, employment class actions, EEOC Commissioner’s Charges, and nationwide DOL wage-and-hour class actions. His defense practice also included complex commercial litigation, involving telephonic violations of Texas’s anti-slamming laws, residential and commercial construction disputes, oil and gas matters, breach of contract, and intellectual property administrative proceedings and litigation.

Edward also served as in-house counsel for Valero Energy Corporation, defending against asbestos class actions, California MTBE litigation, “take or pay” litigation, employment claims, and construction defect claims. In that role he also negotiated M&A deals, service contracts, and EPC contracts for major refinery turnaround projects, and worked closely with Internal Audit to monitor those projects to avoid delays and cost overruns.

In 2005, Edward was recruited by a plaintiff contingency firm to begin and manage its commercial litigation division, which he did until the firm’s dissolution in 2024. During that tenure, Edward recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients in intellectual property, construction (including Valero Energy’s refinery construction litigation), breach of contract, Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas, partnership, product liability, personal injury, and mass tort litigation, including matters in In re BP Oil Spill MDL, In re Syngenta Corn MDL, In re FEMA Trailer MDL, In re SGLT2 MDL, In re Chlorpyrifos, and In re Roundup MDL.

Over the course of his career, Edward has handled matters ranging from motor vehicle and trucking collisions to construction, oil and gas, employment, and business disputes. His background in sophisticated corporate, transactional, and labor and employment work gives him a strong understanding of how businesses and insurers evaluate risk and value cases.

Edward is also a highly experienced mediator and neutral, having served in personal injury, commercial, mass tort, and employment cases. His dual background as both trial lawyer and mediator helps him see cases from every angle, anticipate the other side’s moves, and position his clients for favorable settlements or, when necessary, trial.

Clients describe Edward as prepared, plain-spoken, and steady under pressure. He keeps clients informed at every stage of the process and focuses on practical strategies that move cases forward without unnecessary expense or delay.

Edward has been married since 1996.  He and his wife have 4 children.  When not representing clients, Edward enjoys time with his family, spending time outdoors, working on ranch projects, golfing, and following Texas A&M football.
